PSL Snow Report
PSL daily report for Tuesday, August 2, 2022.

I'm sure I just saw Winnie the Pooh and Piglet being blown through the car park... It is such a "blustery day" with 43kmh gusts that the temp of -1 "feels like" -7.9 with the wind chill factor applied (source-BOM) and it is predicted to get stronger during the day. We can say the benefit of the somewhere between 15 and 20 cm of snow that fell a day ago and the car park is nicely covered and looking just like a ski resort should. A small chance of more snow today,.partly cloudy. Again, what a friend describes as the" moving car park" (aka traffic out of Jindy ) began at 6:30 a.m And we need to accept that is the way it is. Today will be a day of looking for places out of the wind and using the t bars on the downhill lifted side of the hill and using the wind protected trails on the cross-country side. Speaking of cross country an event called cross-country ski week starts on Saturday and offers daily events for skiers of all ages,,, abilities and desires. It attracts lots of people from all around Australia and sometimes overseas. Say the link below to Perisher XC to find out all about it and think about entering. Back today.. If you are not skiing, with so much fresh snow around it would be a great day to go snowshoeing.. It can be a little hard to work out where to go but if you start at the Rock Creek building on the left side of Kosciuszko road just past where the road is blocked at the Ski Tube terminal, you will see a sign and some trail markers for the Rock Creek snowshoe trail which wonders towards Porcupine Rocks (a very popular hiking trail in the summer). The most important thing is, please do not walk on the groomed cross-country trails as it damages them and can cause skiers accidents. You can get maps for both at Wilderness Sports. Perisher which is located inside the National Parks building and also rent some gear. As always, reports from Perisher Resort, Perisher XC, weather experts and links to various providers are below.
