PSL Daily Report for Saturday August 6 6am:

Edits.. 734am there has been an accident between Smiggins and perisher involving several cars off the side of the road and traffic is at a standstill behind them. 

Doesnt matter who was right and who was wrong.(but as we said yesterday :-) ).it has been snowing and it remains to be snowing and those water holes are being filled in. The temperature is -0.5 with a windchill factor of possibly -16 at this time of the morning with the wind . For new arrivals, the 6:30 a.m. traffic out of Jindabyne is heavy and indicates a full car park and therefore a closure of the road by authorities at Jindabyne whether or not you have a pass, I am guessing around 8:30 a.m ish. So if you are not up and on the move take the local bus or the ski tube. There is snow and ice on the road with reasonably slippery driving conditions the closer you get to Perisher. Chains are being directed to put on two-wheel drives at Wilson's and the Boss shop folk are there offering a chain fitting service ..To the guy in the ute with the toolbox on the back who was busily overtaking and darting in and out of the traffic - man, don't expect to live too long. If you don't kill yourself, someone else is going to come and give you a serve for stupid driving. Today is  snowy, blowy, busy...and a short fun xc ski race , the PXC Cup, on the xc side of the hill for all types and ages. Enter on the day before 10am. The usual story...your warm gear, your chains for 2WD, spare everything....
